Speakers to monitor to Ps3

Is there anyway I can connect my ps3 via HDMI to my monitor, and the just have it play out of the speakers I have connected to my monitor?

How are you connecting speakers to the monitor? They usually hook up to the computer, or do you mean the internal speakers on the monitor? If your monitor happens to have a pass-through for audio, I would not use that and just go right from computer to speakers.

If you use HDMI out on the PS3 it will send both video and an audio, you need to use the audio out ports on the PS3, will look a bit like this type of connection.

That is just an example of how the wiring will need to be done, you can get an optical out to 3.5mm jack adapter to hook up the PS3 to your speakers.
