speed of capture

I have a Canon Rebel T3, it focus quickly but after pressing the capture button it takes quite a few seconds to actually capture the shot is this slow capture normal for this camera

Should be a lot faster, read this review http/www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2393106,00.asp there is something about it being slow when using the Live View LCD.

You may also be using a slow SD card, make sure you have a Class 10 card.

I never use the LCD only the view finder. I am using a 16 gb Class10 SanDisk Extreme card. I am new to this so maybe I'll figure it out. Thanks for the help
