Hi,

I have a number of TNG LDs but am still missing one or two. Should I
spend the next few months hoping that my missing ones appear on ebay
or should I buy the dvds?

I understanf the dvd has 5.1 sound whereas the lds don't. Is it worth
upgrading for the sound?

After all, I bought a subwoofer, I'd like to use it ;)

If I switch to dvd, what is the best way to sell the lds? Should I
sell in seasons or separately?

Thanks.

Darrel helped me fill the gaps in my TNG LD collection. He's definitely
a reputable guy.

I considered getting the DVDs too, but finding seasons 4-7 on LD at a
Goodwill store for $30 changed my mind. :)

The 5.1 sound upgrade on the dvds isn't that big of a deal, imo. Plus, some
of the laserdiscs for shows especially on the first 3 seasons have much
better saturated color then the bland and somewhat soft looking dvd
transfers which also suffer from over compressed transfers. If I had 70% or
more of the entire series on laserdisc, I'd buy up the rest for dirt cheap
on eBay or through people selling on places like this newsgroup.

i have the entire series on laserdisc, and a number of duplicates, mostly
from the earlier seasons. anybody looking to fill a hole in their collection
is welcome to contact me, and tell me which did you need. if i have a
duplicate, $6 plus $2 shipping, no extra shipping for additional discs. all
are in the factory shrink wrap-- i will open and check for rot upon request.
as for the complete series, it cost me $900, but i'm willing to entertain
offers. thanks--
