Hi
I want to start a board games blog that will use video footage from time to time. For an example, look at the Dice Tower site - they use video in which the person is in shot talking to you and then the game itself is shown with the camera still and both hands able to manipulate the pieces.
However I've hit a snag. I bought the Panasonic TZ40 after hearing rave reviews and yes it's a great camera, but when I tried a video on it, my voice was tinny and not easily heard - it made the video sound amateurish.
It has no external microphone port on it though.
How can I get around this issue? I thought of using a lapel mic, but without an external input on the camera, I'm stuffed with that also. People mention filming with the camera and using a microphone that plugs into a PC (except I'm using my camera, not a webcam to film but I could always position my laptop out of shot for the microphone I guess linked to something like. . . . Camtasia Studio 8 for example).
I'm a complete noob with this video editing lark but I don't want to give up on it. I've a possible chance of exchanging the camera for a different one and I want a camera, not a camcorder as such - otherwise I'll have to do this "marry the sound and video" up stuff which I'm going to be completely new at.
I'm at my wits end, please help!!!
