"he doesn't want a 3rd party, closed system interfering with the relationship between the developer and Apple's closed system"

This is perfectly OK to me.
And I will not purchase Apple's closed system either. Speaking with my wallet, I will never buy anything that bastard's name or company logo attached to it.

[citation][nom]dgingeri[/nom]I love how people get Apple mixed up as some "good guy" company, when they are doing far more than MS has ever done to capture and hold their little world under their own control, and screw over as many of their customers as they can in the process. I know a lot of people who see Apple is exactly the opposite of what their fans say they are. Apple fans are just too stupid to see it.[/citation]

LOL...yea, go on about how evil Apple is while the health insurance industry is the one that we should be targeting. People buy Apple products because they want to, and they do it when there are other options available. Wish we could say the same about the health insurance companies. Do we have our priorities straight?

[citation][nom]idisarmu[/nom]Have you ever heard of the KKK? Well, it's kind of like that.[/citation]

Ignorance rules supreme on your end...eh?

[citation][nom]jgalecio[/nom]'Capitalist Republic of Apple' Proven? Happy now?I know the difference between capitalist and communism. Both are fucked up in their own respective way but Apple seem to merge the both together with an emphasis on later. Sure they don't kill thousands of people who disagree with them they just bust down the fucking doors and take their shit in the name of Intellectual property or they sue the shit out of you or they bribe you into shutting the fuck up.[/citation]

You do not understand the meaning of either economic system, because if you did then you would know that you cannot merge the two. They are mutually exclusive. I think you are trying to call Apple a 'fascist' organization. BTW, Apple did not 'bust' any doors down. Get your facts straight there buddy boy.

People buy apple under the "impression" its better and easier to use. But in reality its very limited. Being a system admin, apple products bug the f*** out of me.

One button my ass.

I prefer choice. I do not like when a compamny tries to tell me what I can and can't do. And tried to pull one over my eyes. I like Freedome!

It's mine, I own it, I can do whatever I want with it. No one can tell me what else.

But where I draw the line, is that I do not pirate, as I am a programmer/software producer myself.

Steve Job lost trust in 3rd party app, he learned this back in the 80s, thanks to Bill gates pulling a fast one on him.. Pirates of Silicon Valley. "We go to the loot first."

I recon it's all down to battery life

flash consumes a lot of cpu (or gpu) resources. that consumes battery power and lowers battery life. If you watched flash video continually on your iphone I bet it wouldn't last two hours.

cue people complaining about battery life
cue drop in sales

if your watching youtube your not consuming apps or itunes content and you increase network traffic ( and hence cost to network) is all secondry imho.

apple made a move that is best suited to their finacial future - they're a business that is what they do.

In response to the last question in the news, it is because large traditional (non technology) companies do not want to advance in any way (especially in technologies).

If you work in one of these fields, you will know, there is still a large demand on people with I.T. knowledge dated back to 1960s!

The refusal to update and upgrade for such a long time have produced a lot of burden in changing anything in a short period of time which is costly. They are willing to pay large sum of money, comparatively small for upgrading to new and better technology, as long as there is company wanna to take on the support.

This, will really hinder the technology improvement but is the real world. Apple hates this but, Adobe would love it. You cannot improve a software's capability when it is truly mature and no other technology break through to make more money. And Adobe won't invest in them as well.

So, hope the Internet giants will drive the pace of development forward!
