Stuck between MSI GT72 with 4th gen or 6th gen cpu

Yo guys,
So i have these two specific laptops on offer for me but i find it difficult to decide.

MSI GT72 6QD(Dominator)-019US (i7 6820HK) - $1589

MSI GT72 2QD(Dominator)-611US (i7-4720HQ) - $1149

These specs are common:
GPU: GTX970 3Gb
Display: 17" Antiglare FHD
Ram: 16GB DDR3L(2qd) DDR4(6qd)
Storage: 1TB (2qd comes with 128SSD as well)

Which do you guys think is worth it? is it worth sacrificing the cpu for the $400 drop?

Another important question is, do both those models have G-Sync? I've done research on google but couldn't find any specific to those models, G sync is always preferred

Hi,

If you're to compare those 2 CPU the 6th gen beats the 4th gen. If you'll be using planning on using it on gaming and visual stuff I'll go for the 6th gen.

The i7-6820HK is only about 12% faster than the i7-4720HQ. Is that worth $440 bucks to you (definitely not for me)? Only you can decide. 😀

Pretty valid point. DDR3L and DDR4 wont make a big difference yeah?
Because in the end, it's the GPU that counts for gaming.

Any idea if both models have G-Sync on them?
G-Sync is currently the selling point for me
