Yo guys,
Im currently looking into buying the MSI Ghost pro notebook. but im stuck between two. the full hd screen with GTX 965m or the 4K screen with GTX970m. the price difference is around 200 dollars between the two models

Below you will find the common specs between the two models:

CPU: i7-4720HQ
HDD: 1TB 7200rpm + 128GB SSD
RAM: 16GB DDR3L (8gb*2)
Steelseries keyboard
Dynaaudio

**I've read that the 4K model uses a samsung panel that is locked to 48Hz and that panel also doesnt represent yellow properly (mustard yellow colour)

I dont know how the 48Hz lock would affect my gameplay in games i would be playing such as GTA V, BF4 and CSGo

Just want to know what you guys think, whether getting the 1080p is worth the gpu sacrifice. it's a pity the GTX970m FHD model isnt available where i am.

Cheers :)

If you want to play games at 4k then you really need GTX 980m SLI. A GTX 970m is definitely less powerful than a desktop GTX 960 and it is generally recommended to have at least one GTX 980 Ti if you want to play games at 4k on a desktop PC.

The 48Hz lock means that at best only 48 FPS will be displayed on the screen even if the GPU can push 60 FPS. You can always use the GTX 970m to play games at 1080p on the 4k screen, but the graphics will not look as sharp compared to a native 1080p screen.
