what drivers do my ide hard drive need so i can install os. its asking me where do i want to install windows? but there are no partitions. help plz

You may need the SATA drivers for the operating system to see the hard drive which are loaded by pressing the F6 key as the Windows installation disk loads. Alternatively in the BIOS you can set the SATA hard drive controller to run in IDE mode. The disadvantage of doing this is that you lose NCQ, but in practice it does not make much difference.
