Solved! T41 limited or no connectivity for wireless.

Wired ethernet is great. Wireless has excellent signal strength but limited or no connectivity. Will not release 169 IP address

Have you gone into Command box and done IPCONFIG (there are various options under IPCONFIG /? but start with IPCONFIG /ALL).

Alternatively look at Wireless Network Properties and TCP/IP Properties and make sure that DNS Server and IP address are set to automatic.

Do you have any encyption on yor router? If you do you have to enter the password. Are you broadcasting the SSID? The commands on the command prompt are ipconfig/release releases all connection and ipconfig/renew connects. Make certain the zero configuration sevice is started , if you are running Windows XP.
