technics sa eh600 error

I have a technics sa eh600, which is connected to the tv. However, i am having an issue where the sound stops playing - on the display it goes from vdp to saying disc error at the same time the lights go off on the cd player and tape player.

Would appreciate any tips on how to repair this?

Apologies the display says disc 1 sometimes too when the sounds go as well as error

Can't say for sure but it could be a bunch of bad solder joints. You can get the service manual here

but unless you have some experience and skills it would require an old school repair guy.

What is normally the common cause for this?

It is after all 20 years old so perhaps the connectors are weak.....where should i start to look at?....

There are so many different problems that could cause this in a 20 year old mini system that there is no simple place to start you. Have fun but don't expect more than a learning experience.
