the chromecast app says my device is not compatible with my next book Android tablet what do I do

Have a Chromecast device. Won't set up on my HDTV. ALL connections fit etc but get to set up and it won't work! Tried set up several times but says this version isn't compatible with mydevice! Frustrated, now what do I use?! I have a cable that works with my tablet and vizio HDTV on HDMI. No problem! Do I really need the Chromecast, rokku or any other?!
Have a Nextbook Android Kit kat 4.4.2

In order to use Chromecast, you MUST have an actual Chromecast connected to your TV. Having a device that supports Chromecast does nothing if it has nowhere to send the signal to. You need to have a Chromecast connected to your TV.
