I have a new frustration.
I've just done a complete re-install of Win7 on my Satellite A660 laptop, and at the same time set it up as a dual boot machine with Linux Mint 17.2
When I run Win7 the keyboard is backlit; when I run Mint the keyboard is not backlit. What's missing from the Mint installation? Am I missing a driver, a utility or what? I've had a look at the list of Toshiba drivers (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/a660/psaw3a-0tk00r/download?os=25) but can't see anything that sounds likely.
Guidance would be much appreciated.

Hello

It looks you need to search for the chipset driver for your laptop.

Discussion in this thread would help you guess the solution and this link would help you get the correct drivers, of course if they are available.

Feel free to revert if more assistance is needed.

Good Luck!! :)

No official support from Toshiba for Linux operating systems, by the looks of it. Your drivers, instead, will come from Linux's repository. If it doesn't work in Linux after running updates, you're out of luck until/unless a driver or a patch is released to get the keyboard backlights working.
