toshiba laptop, clicking sound and error message says ' no bootable device - please restart system'

laptop not even six months old

any ideas?


Beginning to wonder if ireland is a dumping ground for faulty laptops like it is faulty phones

It sounds like a faulty hard drive but I have no reason for why other then just a failed head. It does happen from time to time and someone has to be the one who gets it. Seeing as it is less then half a year old I would see about getting it repaired though warrenty.

we unfortunately bought it in argos, but have just rang them and they agreed to fix it...but will take three weeks!

it's got an entire organisation's vtal working data on there! What a joke

HDD dead, so off for repair.

Sorry to say I disagree, 3 weeks may seem like a long time, but the joke would be not having all that important data on backup.
