toshiba laptop says reboot and select proper boot device

so i have a problem my laptop froze and i shut it down and then when i open it it ook long enough then i saw blue screen say advanced option i clicked advanced option then i clicked troubleshoot i got hard drive problem it told me too erase hard drive i followed the steps on it was on 23% while i was away my brother cancelled it on 23% and next thing i see is "reboot and select proper boot device can someone help please i need it to be fixed,

Sounds to me you need to reinstall the OS.

Is there a way to get back to the advanced options menu?

what OS is it?

I've got the same problem and no as soon as the laptop comes on it goes straight to that page with nothing but the writing stating to reboot
