I don't understand the negativity on this subject. If Toshiba can pull of a DVD player with super upconvert technology that allows me to watch my current DVD collection in HiDef, then that is great news for the consumer. It offers great affordability on movies vs. Blu-Ray and allows me to enjoy my currect collection all over again, saving me a bundle.

No matter what it is still upscaling. Even if it does it quite well it is still not true HD. I'll just keep waiting until Blu-Ray offers the older movies that I like.

I use to buy 20-30 movies a year but since the HD players have been released I have not bought one movie. Just start offering every DVD and VHS title ever on Blu-Ray already, at Walmart DVD prices.

Mainly I want 30's and 40's movies. Star Trek is a must though.
