Touchscreen no longer working after Windows Update

I have been looking on line for weeks now trying to find a working solution for a Toshiba Satellite Laptop that was working flawlessly. About a month or two ago, I noticed that my touchscreen funtionality had ceased. I have traced it back to the time Windows 10 did a major update. I have tried everything - even a complete factory reset, to no avail. Running the Device Manager, I now no longer see the touch screen driver under Human Interface Devices - this was there under "hidden devices" prior to sytem reset as HID-compliant touch screen. The only other issue I see is under Universal Serial Bus Controllers I have a yellow exclaimation next to Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
Monitors reads Generic PnP Monitor (I am not sure what this read previously when the touch screen worked)
Also - under system - next to Pen and Touch it says: No pen or Touch Input is available for this display -
- Does anyone have a fix for this nightmare?

I found a workaround instead. I bought an air bar. https://air.bar/ Works perfectly. Toshiba were less than helpful. I had lots of people cutting and pasting the same useless "fixes" without reading the threads - so I gave up trying to fix the drivers/bios etc. the only downside is having to carry the airbar in my laptop case, but I only use this for presentations - and it is much better than using the touch pad.
