Transferring information to SD card

I have a galaxy s5 smartphone. I put a 32 GB SD card in it to free up space on my phone. I know my Sim card has all my phone numbers on it. Some if them are on it 10 times. Probably because I was trying to move them to my SD card also. I don't understand how to move my stuff to my SD card to free up space on my phone. I followed the instructions on my phone but nothing works. I'm afraid I'm going to lose all my pictures from 2010. Also what about the pictures on Google photos. What do I do?
