Hi guys.

So I recently bought a Sony STR-DH590 Receiver, Mackie CR4BT 4" powered speakers and a Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer. So I have the sub running to the receiver via sub outputs. I can get the passive Mackie speaker to connect to the receiver and play but I can't figure out the powered speaker. (What cables, and how to connect it) I'm not super technical with audio terminology so dumb it down if ya can for me. Would really love some help on this as I'm lost. Thanks you guys!

Solution
If you were sold those speakers for that receiver I would return them and get passive speakers.
If you have to use them you will need a speaker to line level converter. The converter has speaker wires to connect to the front speaker terminals and RCA outputs to connect to the speakers.

Thank you for the advice. Do you have any converter's you would recommend? Do you lose quality using them, or is it basically the same?

If you don't have a line level output on the receiver only speaker outputs, you won't be able to use the powered speakers with it. Powered speakers are made to connect directly to a source not go through another power amp.
Thanks for the input. I'm hoping to get a converter or something that can help me pair the two.
