Hi all,
I make sure to keep my PC protected with the minimal MSE and scan every once in a while, don't access any malicious sites and that has kept me malware free for years. Something odd is happening, I'm getting a random 'X' icon on my taskbar that I have no idea what it is. It goes away as soon as I hover over it and theres nothing I can see in my task manager. Both MSE and MBAM scans come clean, not sure whats going on or what it is, or if I should even be worrying. Any help is appreciated. I'm running W8.1 pro btw. image

Can you tell us when does it appear... it could be screen saver preloading or something... sometimes on some slow computers ive seen a blank field appear on the task bar and then computer goes into screen saver
but i can recommend you checking pc out with adwcleaner and hitman pro if you want to be sure its not adware (i doubt it is)

Its very random, I'll see it mostly when I wake my PC up. No screensavers loaded on my PC, I have very minimal things installed. From my specs below, I'd say my PC is not slow at all ;) I'll give those a shot thanks!
