Trying to pick best antivirus/system utilites

Hello, I'm looking to find the best option for a paid antivirus and system utilities suite. Total AV looks good but I've never heard of it and am therefore unsure of it. I'm running windows 10.

I personally use AVG As my antivirus and it works perfectly fine. But to be honest you don't really need one. They can slow down your computer and only my family computer has this installed (Because small children play on it) Just being careful not to click on suspicious links or ads and not downloading from a bad reviewed 3rd party site you should be perfectly fine. But sometimes its just best to play it safe and download one.

Windows defender is good enough. Thats what i use and it has stopped multiple trojans from silly friends linking me stuff.

My thought other than going paid was Free Avast and free malwarebytes, but both seem to be pretty mouthy and I don't wanna deal with it. I'd really like a good system utility too that can look at my registry and such as well.

I've used Norton for years. It has kept all our family's various PC's clean. The only other utilities I use regularly are the free versions of CCleaner and Malwarebytes. Another potential all in one is PC Mechanic.

does anyone read the reviews for these suggested avs?anyone who thinks you either dont need an av or defender is good enough needs to rethink.anyone can give you anecdotal advice on picking an av.hell,i use avast and malwarebytes paid version.but dont listen to me.

yeah,if you are bugged by the free avs trying to get you to upgrade and dont want to go to settings to fix it,by all means pay.

For those who mentioned Avast, thanks for the shout out. In the free version, you can turn on Game Mode (or silent mode) to mute notifications when running a game or fullscreen app. Ads/notifications are part of how we support the Free version, but we do want to make sure they aren't too intrusive, so if anyone is seeing something specific, e.g. a certain popup appearing more often than would be normal, let me know.

Upgrading to a paid version does give you the option to remove ads

all this having been said,malwarebytes is not an av program,but rather,a complimentary program.in other words,it works with your antivirus program.bottom line,you should still have an av program.
