Solved! TV, Headsets, and HDMI/ARC

Hooking up headsets sound simple....found out it ain't so.

TV Connected to Sound bar via HDMI/ARC. 3.5mm jack doesn't give any sound even though the tv recognizes.

What next? Any help would be appreciated.

Which sound bar?
If you are connecting 3.5mm jack to the TV and there is no sound, it could be that your TV could only output sound from one output at the time.
or
If supported, you have to configure audio from different outputs.

Having trouble with headset connectivity on Sharp Rohu TV
Sound bar connected via HDMI/ARC.
TV recognizes headset but no sound.
I have been told that ARC can only feed on sound device. So sound bar gets it first.
Question....If I use a non-ARC port to connect to the tv with an optical cable for sound, will that do the trick....or am I just screwed?

TV is Sharp Roku LC-55LBU591U
Sound bar is Vizio SB3851
According to HISENSE, the Roku folks...The HDMI/ARC connection can only supply sound to one output. Hence, the lack of sound from the headphone 3.5mm jack. So, what is left to supply sound to multiple outputs? Optical? RCA jacks? USB?

Your TV can output sound to one source plus the TV internal speakers.
If you want to output audio to soundbar and 3.5mm headphones jack you might need to get a sound splitter (sound extractor) device like this one.
Unless you want to switch your soundbar for a model with a 3.5mm jack.

You will need to split the optical output of the TV. Connect one output to a bluetooth transmitter and the other to the soundbar. If you want to use wired headphones then you could connect a DAC/Headphone amp with a volume control instead of the BT transmitter.

This one has a preamp output that could connect to a soundbar aux input but it's not clear if the headphones and preamp outs work at the same time. If it did you would not need the optical splitter.
