TV repair

Hello, our Spectrum flat screen t.v. will shut off 5-10 seconds after turning on. Screen will flash black and then shut off. At this point the t.v. shows no power at all on the power button (usually it is red) to get the t.v. back on again you have to use a different outlet where something else was powered on. ?? Almost like it shorts out and have tried multiple outlets. If we get it to stay on which might take an hour of plugging back in and turning on it will stay on.
