I recently purchased. A PHILIP 44"flat screen TV that will not turn on at all. The only thing it does is blink red lower rt side. Seems like some code. did not have a remote either. This is my first time to purchase a flat screen. Is there any hope with this unwise decision of purchase?

Obviously a second hand buy, in my thought.
Like Bad_Kitty said if it was new then it should of had a remote in the box.
So like he said, phone up the shop where you bought it from to resolve your problem.

The other thing is even if you did not have the remote the manual that came with the tv.
Should still tell you how to turn it on via the control buttons on the edge, or side of the flat screen, or the bottom edge of the tv screen.

So you have either not read it, or not bothered to.
Or don`t have a manual also.

And that to me would confirm it was a second hand buy or purchase.
And if it was.
I hope you got a warranty or guarantee receipt of
some kind to return it if faulty.

There is an old saying, if it`s too good for the price to believed, then in most cases it is.

When for example buying second hand or used Items.
Always ask to see the device working where, and when you can before buying.

If local to you. Or you may end up with a pig in a poke.
Meaning the person who sold it knew it did not work.
And if that was the case then if you asked to see it working then they would of tried to avoid that situation.
Making excuses as to why you could not see it working for yourself.

That is a lesson I learned the hard way.
Never buy something blind, if the price is cheap, and too good to believe it`s often in some cases not a barging at all, but a rip off.
