Ultimate Boot CD. Parted magic won't boot into menu.

I have tried each of the three options to get parted magic to boot and none of them work. It gets to a bunch of white lines passing through the screen, then a purple line saying something about the system and then it goes black and nothing. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

Are you sure that the host PC is set up to allow boot up via CD - check BIOS.

Does the CD player work with other CD's: games, music, data?

Any beeps from the computer?

Does the CD work anywhere else?

Yes, I am able to boot Linux install cd and also this cd. I made it to the main menu for UBCD, but I couldn't make it into parted magic after selecting it. This cd worked on another computer, but the install on ram option did not work for the other comp. Only using the live cd did. Neither works for my laptop I am trying to error check. No beeps were heard at all.

Edit: I meant to say that I can't get past the parted magic selection screen. There are three options: ram, live cd and another one. None work and I get stuck on a black screen.

What version UBCD are you using and what was the download source?

I suggest that you download the UBCD software from the original website and create another boot CD.

Could be some file corruption in the current CD.

yeah. that is what I downloaded from. I've tried the top three options below p2p. I didn't try the p2p one. I am trying now with usb...
