Unable to connect to the proxy server error

When I try and use any programs that use the Internet they say there's an Internet error or "Unable to connect to the proxy server" I've gone into Internet options connections LAN settings and unticked the Use a proxy for your LAN and pressed ok and then when I go to click back on it and look again and it's ticked.

try again, make sure you click Apply
