I have an Philips HTS5520. It has an HDMI upscalar also but when i play some movies with a resolution of 1280*720, it says that resolution not supported. Why does this happen??
And what are the appropriate resolutions which i can play on it??

Check out:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=nl&ctn=HTS5520/12

and

http://www.philips.co.in/c/home-theater-systems/3d-angled-speakers-hts5520_94/prd/;jsessionid=AEA4F3FA3FE58D6D902FB3BA01F0B7F3.app102-drp2?t=specifications

The above link states the following:-
Video Playback
Compression formats: DivX Ultra, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV SD, XviD

--> so that while the unit can upscale to a 720/1080p TV, it appears that it can not read/play back a 720/1080p video file.....and thus, the error message you see.
