Solved! Universal remote and Receiver

Hi, I bought a Universal Remote as I don't have one for my receiver, connected it to my receiver and I cannot seem to get access to the setup menu from on the receiver.

I can change the volume and the program channel, though when pressing the MENU button on the remote nothing seems to happen, pressed all of the other buttons to see if that would bring up the menu, but no luck, there's nothing wrong with the remote as it works fine with my Samsung TV.

What could be wrong?

Nothing is probably wrong, it's just that your device does not work with the remote for that function. You can try the Logitech Harmony remotes or contact Yamaha to get one for your specific model.
