I have been converting avi to vcd for long time now and had no problem doing so. Today however i got an AVI file that wouldn't play in Winamp, Windows Media player, or Real player. But it does play in Divx player. I use Canopus Procoder 2 to convert video files and it converts every type of files but wont convert this one. I tried other converters to convert this file but they all come up with some error. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with the file, and give a solution to this problem. Thanks.

Install a newer version of divX codec. See if this helps.

Well then, uninstall it and reinstall. Maybe that can help.

you can try install XVID or VXD .....video code (too many..)
1.ACE Mega CoDecS Pack
2.XVD Player
they can play a lot of video format, but first uninstall divx code (ACE Mega CoDecS Pack has divx code)

Google "g spot codec information appliance to find out what type of file is contained in the avi. If the file was downloaded from the web it may be corrupt or poorly assembled.
