I'm reading that the phenom ii x4 945 has a locked multiplier everywhere. in my bios it gives me a chance to change those settings and the nb and the fsb but not voltages. k9 msi motherboard.
is the motherboard showing multiplier options even though they wont work?
they are not greyed out like the voltage settings so it appears that i can change them.

If I recall correctly, "locked" AMD CPUs can use multipliers below the stock one, but not above stock. So if the stock multiplier is 20x, it can use 19x, 18x, etc. But only a Black Edition CPU can use multipliers that are above stock.

you are right Leapfromshadow :) , phenom ii x4 945 can't raise above with multiplier from 14x to 15x ... :D, just FSB for non BE or drop muliplier , I think the question is rather odd, try just opened in the bios which can be set
