UNLOCKING THE ATHLON XP

Is it possible to unlock the athlon XP by filling the laser cuts with nonconductive material (super glue, crayon, etc.) and then use trace tape? I have yet to find anybody that has suggested this idea, and it would seem a helluva lot easier than using conductive ink....

THG has a viceo that documents the process that you are talking about EXACTLY.
fill in the channels, and then putting some sort of conductive material to connect the bridges.
look on the homepage or in the cpu guide to find it...
they even have a web guide, if you dont want to download the video.
also, there are plenty of guides online...
you just havent looked in the right spot!

Yeah, but I haven't seen anybody use trace tape. That would work, wouldn't it?

Interesting idea...I haven't seen that tried yet. Perhaps you can try that sometime, huh? Seriously!

i dont know...probably not, since each bridge has two small contacts, trace tape is probably not large enough to cover both, and would not do it.
but i may be wrong.
if you have an xp, look closely at the l1 bridges.
there is two small little points that you need to contact..i am pretty sure about that, because of the pictures i have seen where people are unlocking it.
i have not looked closely at an xp in person.

Trace tape doesn't work reliably. See plycon.com about that...
