Hi! I'm building a new computer in the next week or two and am trying to decide which version of MS Office to install. I currently have a copy of Office 2003, but I can purchase Office 2007 from my school for around $5. From what I can tell the major differences are the new ribbon layout, some major improvements to Outlook (which I don't use), and the inclusion of OneNote. These alone don't seem like enough reason to upgrade. Is there anything else I'm missing? Would you all suggest upgrading or do you prefer 2003? Thanks!

Do you own 2003 pro? If not them go 2007 pro.

2007 saves files with a different extention but can save files as normal like xls, doc, etc.
If people are sending you docx files, you can down load the 2007 patch for 2003 to convert them.

Another choice is open office 2.2 made by SUN systems and is free! google it.

I do own 2003 pro. I also have Open Office 2.2 on my system. I prefer the Microsoft Office products over Open Office just because that's what I'm used to and I can get them nearly free from my school.

Since price is not an issue, I'm just wondering whether there's any benefit to upgrade to 2007 pro?
