Upgrade my Toshiba Satellite L300-2DR System Unit

i have a Toshiba Satellite L300-2DR System Unit and wanted to upgrade it but i want to know what to,
the current specs are:

Intel Celeron CPU 900 @2.20GHz
160gb HDD
2gb Ram
Windows 7 Professional 32bit

I was aiming to upgrade the ram and hdd only and would this help my computers performance.
I know the computers about 4-5 years old but i was thinking that if i spent about £60-70 would it make a massive difference

More RAM will not make a difference unless you find that you are using up all of the available RAM you currently have. If you are, then it can help your performance.

An SSD will make a big difference also. If you can't afford an SSD, you can get an excellent mechanical laptop drive for about $60 - $70.
