The 5450 is in the same situation. There is no upgrade as of now that I'm
aware of.

Clinton,
In looking at the HP decision not to make the later generation iPaqs
upgradeable to PPC 2003se (IMHO-Bad PR move for HP) are there any devices
that HP offers a 2003se update for ?
Thanks,
Tedd

Tedd,

At this point, no, there are no HP units that are being offered an upgrade.
HP, like most other manufactures, don't see the "value" in offering an
upgrade. I own a ViewSonic V36 and I'm in the same boat. The value, as you
point out, is the PR side of things. However, Gartner reports that most
Pocket PCs are killed (dropped, etc) within two years so they figure why
bother. I don't agree with it but that seems to be the way things are going
on it. Honestly, this is one of the reasons I've been looking at the new
Asus units. They seem to be highly reliable and have great built-in
expansion. Asus (and Toshiba) has said they plan on offering upgrades as
long as the ROM & processor will support it.

HP has been said to discussing if they want to offer it on their newest line
(the 45xx series I believe it is) but I've not seen or heard anything on
that.

Regards,
