My Thinkpad T61 originally comes with a 120G Hitachi HDD. Left with only 5G for free disk space, I'd like to upgrade the internal HDD to a bigger capacity.
1. What off the shelf internal HDD can I buy to replace the old one ? Any particular brand ?
2. Are there any special setting on the HDD ?
3. Do I have to pay to any special attention when replacing the HDD ?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As a warnig since I work on Lenovo systems at work. The laptop may give you a warning about a "non-compatable" drive if you use a non-Lenovo branded drive. We replaced several drives using regular hard drives and got that message.

It's OK to ignore and the PC will work fine, but you need to click OK to get past the message at boot up. There are some hacks to get around this, but I have not tried it. Also, I can't be certain you will see this on the T61, I don't remember the exact models I got the message on.
