So I didnt know that the usb outlets on these tvs had little pins that stuck out instead of the standard flat pins that you see on most devices. So, say when you push in a thumb drive the wrong way you push the pins in. Needless to say I did this and 2 of them snapped. Now the port is useless. I know it's not really fixable.

My question is concerning a work-around. Is there a such trhing as a usb to hdmi adapter so that I could run the usb drive through the TV's free hdmi port?

I had the exact same problem, googled for it and found this,
after finding no answer from google, just took a thin solid picker and tried to make the pins straight. it turned out that it was so easy to fix those pins. They are soft made of copper, so they don't break, in my case at least, they just needed to straiten up. in 5 minutes i fixed it, you can too. it was broken for last 2 years, its ridiculous how easy somethings are.

You would have to use a media box such as the WD TV media.
