I want to upgrade the speakers for my PC and would love some advise. I mainly use it for Gaming.

I want to buy the Klipsch R-15PM or the Klipsch RB-10 but they come without a subwoofer. Buying a subwoofer on top of these will become very expensive.

My current speakers have a subwoofer already.
Can I use my current speakers as rear speakers and use that subwoofer with the new speakers? Will the PC understand it and mix properly if I plug the aux jack from the old speakers to the ‘rear’ aux jack on the motherboard?

My motherboard is: Asrock Z97 Extreme 4
Motherboard HD Audio Jacks: Rear Speaker, Central/Bass, Line in, Front Speaker, Microphone, Optical SPDIF Out Port

My current speakers are: ALTEC LANSING VS2621

Thanks

You can't use the RB-10 alone because they are not self powered. You could use the R-15PM which are self powered.
If you connect them to your pc with the analog audio connection you could connect the old speakers to the subwoofer output of the PC and use the woofer but you can't use the satellites as rears since I don't think the Altecs have 3 inputs only left and right,
I suspect that you will probably be fine with the bass of the Klipsch.

I think you've got some problems with what you want to do. Either of those Klipsch speakers you want to get need to be powered ... the pc alone can't drive them.

The current speakers have an amp built into them - that's why they work - the Klipsch don't - you know what I mean?
