Hi, I have a windows 7 vaio laptop SVE15111FDW that i have been using for almost 3 years. i tried video calling on skype some weeks ago and my webcam couldn't be found. At first i uninstalled skype and then reinstalled it but still no change. i went to the sony esupport site to check for the driver/software then installed the webcam companion 4 software but still my webcam still does not work. so i looked through a bunch of other peoples solutions on other forums and pages and none of them helped. So now I'm here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Here's few more troubleshooting steps that you can try.
- First try to perform System Restore with your PC.
- Click Start then search System Restore and click on it again.
- Once open just click next select a date and time before the problem started happening.
- Try the webcam again after the reboot.

If it doesn't work.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the webcam driver.
- Download and install the webcam driver from Sony Support site.
- Here's the link of that driver: https://esupport.sony.com/CA/p/model-home.pl?mdl=SVE15111FDW&template_id=1&region_id=3&tab=download#/downloadTab
- Reboot the laptop once the driver has been installed.
