video not running smoothly

I have dual core pc with e2180 processer. And 2 gb ddr2 ram. I Installed win 7 in my pc. But offline videos such as mp4,mkv is not running smoothly. There is no external graphic card. But in win xp video play nicely. What is problem im this window 7. Any one please suggest me.

My best guess: The RAM requirements are higher for Windows 7 than Windows XP.

Yes... your ram is very low.
What software are you using to play your videos? The media player built into win7 uses a lot of memory. Try VLC ... it's freeware and much more efficient.
