VMware esxi 6.5 hotkeys-help please

I have Windows Server 2008r2 on a remote VMWare Esxi 6.5 server. I'm having trouble loggin to my guest os because the standard ctrl alt del key combo normally used to log in to server 2008 r2 WILL NOT log me in! it keeps defaulting to my desktop host os. i'm connecting to the server remotely using my laptop so when I hit ctrl alt del on my laptop it defaults those hotkeys to my laptop not the VM! How the heck to I get ctrl alt del to work on the remote VM and not default to the laptops os???

Are you kidding? RTFM! It's your "host combination key"+alt+delete. What's your host combination key? Right alt I think by default, but it never worked for me. I just remap the app key (the key left of the right ctrl key) from VMware settings.

Very basic question.
