My old xp machine is dead, but I have slaved out the HD to my new machine. The problem: my web site was created with Web Studio 5.0. Web Studio's creators are out of business now. I downloaded the software, so I have the install files and it seems to have installed on Win10 with no problem EXCEPT - it wants my activation code. I have no idea where to look. Is there a file within the installed program I might locate in the old HD that contains the activation code for programs? Any help appreciated since the website is dead meat without the creating program.

Solution
Each application is different, and each application handles its activation differently. It could be a file in application folder, or in user folder, or in registry.

It's time to move on with your web development toolkit.
