Guys I know this is the Pc forum but idk where else to go. I just got a small job and the client gave me control of the website. All they gave me is the HOSTNAME, PASSWORD and USERNAME.

All just numbers and letter. Can someone tell me how I enter the editing aspect of the site with this information they provided cause I'm lost??!!! I'm familiar with entering the editing area of websites through the site used to create the website....

So is it I need to ask them for that?

Go to the hostname, enter the username and password, and from their you are usually at the account overview. select the website and enter the control panel for it.

How do I "go to the host name"?

I did, but they haven't replied yet, and Im honestly quite afraid they might not know. So I'm just asking in case I can get in without knowing who hosts the website. (though thats never the case)

Their site is www.____.org.

Not to say I can search who gives you .orgs because a ton of people do. So im stuck.

Search on who owns the website. That often gives you the hosting companys name and from there is pretty easy to find how to access the users admin stuff.

Do the numbers look like an IP address, 123.11.22.33? If so, just enter "http://123.11.22.33" into your browser, and if you see login form, you're in business.

Tried that, didn't work. Sigh.
