I almost posted this in the linux category but hopefully somebody would know. I have this SD card and a slot for it into my HDtv knowing what I know about SSD and how they are lightening fast I was wondering if anyone has written a program to be able to use a card like that to boost refresh rates? I bought an expensive GPU for that reason and reading blurbusters about true 120hz tv's I should be able to get that native 120hz without the card. Havent been able too though. So I was wondering if there was any application to help with your display and rendering or a refresh rate boost kind of thing. I saw that linux was used to create alot of the software used in my tv so there has to be someone out there modding it., right? Maybe Im looking in the wrong places. Any kind of advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

The refresh rate on your tv is hardware limited (the design of the panel).

Maybe someone will come in with an amazing bit of information, but I really struggle to understand how a memory card is going to help that? An SD memory card should not be confused with an SSD drive - very different speeds! Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speeds for just how slow they are...

ok I appreciate the cander and I will check out that info. I had a hard time wrapping my head around a GPU helping that as well. Im assuming it has to do with the speed of memory and bandwidth. I dunno. If there was a way of using the card as a buffering or caching sort of drive or has the rendering software on it leaving more room to press higher rates of refresh. I am not dumb but I will claim ignorance quite a few times :) The info you are sharing I will definately take in and use as a reference tool for future ignorant inquiries :)

Ok the only thing I can think of myself that would be possible using a card like that is by slowing the rate at which lightboost strobes(wrong word Im sure only one coming to mind). So you would still have to have that hardware in your TV but you could control it using an app written to one of those cards. Or a different rendering software utility. but yes judging the outright speed of the cards and the small bitper second wouldn't nudge the needle to help with refreshing.
