Welcome to The Tom’s Guide Community!

If you’re a long-time veteran of Tom’s Guide, we also encourage you to re-introduce yourself for those who might be lurking about the site.

Is nine 12* years a long time? I don't post much but, much like Santa, I'm always around.

*Give me a break, I got corona-ed out of a job and now my brain is atrophying.

Welcome to The Tom’s Guide Community!

We are the premiere venue of discussion for all types of tech experts and enthusiasts. We’ve set up this introductions thread so our users can get to know each other a little more.

If you’ve just registered to the site, please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself.

If you’re a long-time veteran of Tom’s Guide, we also encourage you to re-introduce yourself for those who might be lurking about the site.

I’ll go first: I’m Josh, one of two Assistant Community Managers for Tom’s Guide. I'm currently a level 7 Inox Brute in Gloomhaven, and a hobbyist game designer in my spare time. I'm obsessed with tech and have been building PCs since middle school (don't even think about trying to date me).
Hello, to the Ton's Guide Community.

I currently have Samsung Series 7 Laptop. I'm going to upgrade the 1TB drive to a Samsung 2TB SSD drive. I've been working in the computer industry for ove 30 years.

Hello Everyone,

Been reading and lurking for a while, but finally created an account.

Currently using an MSI GT72, and waiting on the new GE66 to come up to upgrade my five year old machine.

Hello again, everyone. I've used Tom's Guide for a few tech questions and have always liked the advice here.

I don't remember my first computer but I played a lot of Mario Teaches Typing on it...

Hello all.

Im an IT professional in his 60’s. Currently work on the commercial side of the business, but back in the day was a VB / Excel / Oracle contractor and have used Microsoft since the MsDos days. Ive also been an audiophile since my teens in the 1970’s. My current interest is in PC audio. As a founder member of CSaFCoGB (Can’t Spend a Fortune Club of Great Britain) I run an avowedly budget system cobbled together from various online sources as follows –

HP 8200 Mini PC - 1tb SSD, 8Gb DDR3 RAM and Win 10 Pro
FX-Audio DAC-X6 DAC and Headphone Amp
NAD 310 Amp – Retro classic
Wharfedale Diamond 220
Beyerdynamic DT 990 Studio Headphones
Technomate 5402 DVBS2 Satellite decoder

I play my music library of 40,000 tracks in MP3 and FLAC using Groove Music. Tracks are ripped using Foobar 2000 and tags updated using TagScanner.

I also have experience of DVBS2 on a PCI Card on Win 7 / 10 using Windows Media Centre, DVB Dream and Media Portal 1.

Hope I can contribute and learn something myself.
