Worry-some that the dates above are 3 years ago!
Anyhow, CompCiA A+ Certified tech since 2001. Try not to work on tablets because of the lack of manufacturing support due to the throw away rhetoric of the industry. I come to Tom's Guide periodically because the Q and A gives me extra knowledge and thought into troubleshooting ideas. Sometimes your brain goes fuzzy when it comes to dealing software or hardware issues with some of the more troublesome PCs. Sometimes there are answers for issues one never thinks of. Good mental workout!

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I am a older person but not afraid of new tech. I bought a Hiby r6 pro DAP a few months ago (Wow big deal right) and trying to see if I can play it through my MSI Gaming laptop hooked up to m-audio bx8 d2 powered monitors with xlr connects.
I have been following Toms Guide for some time and I like the professionalism of the posters. I am a guitar player and a guitar and amp tech. I am just getting around to making a small music studio/repair room. I like FPS games and still love to play Half Life. I am a 66 years young ex Marine. I live in the Chicago western suburbs. I love Tech and try to stay on top of things. Thanks, Ben.

Hello. My name is Karen. I live in Chico Ca. I'm married with 2 sons , 22 & 18 years old. I graduated from Calif State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Food Administration. I worked for the W.I.C(Women, Infants and Children) Program for 25 years doing nutrition education and counseling. I love all kinds of outdoor activities, such as walking, tennis, swimming, basketball, rollerblading, gardening. We have 8 cats(5 of them we adopted when the neighbor/owner moved out) .
I would have to say that I'm a little late getting into the tech saavy arena, but I feel I've made progress over the last year or so.
I use Alcatel and Total WIreless cell phones right now, Andoid user. I would like to get a laptop, but funds are tight right now. Does anyone know how to obtain one, can be used, for a lower price? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Glad to be a part of this group!

Try your local area Craigslist. Once purchased, a full wipe and reinstall of the OS (likely Windows) is in order.

You should also start a thread in the Laptop General Discussion section providing your budget and usage requirements.

Hello
My laptop have a internal battery.
But it's ruined.
I want to remove the internal battery and work with the main laptop adapter.
If I remove the internal battery.
Does the device work with the main adapter?

Hey everybody- New guy here. I actually have a ton of tech/electronic questions as I am going to be "starting over" after a divorce and am building a home theater system from scratch. I'm big into video games and play a lot of chess.

I'm also on a quest to get my original Age of Empires 2 to play on Windows 7 somehow.
