What channel do i put tv on

What channel is my dvd suppose to be on to watch dvd on my 2010 Sanyo big screen tv. I have my dvd player plugged into video 1 and when i put it on channel 3 its not working i used to put it on another channel but none of them are working what am i doing wrong

Modern TVs don't use channel. There will be a button on the remote for INPUT SELECT and one of them is video 1.

If the remote has a button labeled input or TV/Video that will cycle through the inputs or bring up a menu that you can select video 1. If the DVD player is on you will see it when you get to video 1.
