What does no bootable device insert boot disk mean on acer

hello i have a Acer laptop and it;s reading this "no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key"
any help would be appreicated.

It could be caused by many issues a bad hdd, corrupt mbr, or a bad file for example. First I would run diags on the hdd. If that passes boy to the os disc and do a startup repair

It very simply means that for what ever reason, the BIOS cannot find an Operating System (Windows) installed to boot-up too. There could be many reasons it cannot find an installed OS, as stated in the previous post above.

It could be a simple as a BIOS setting that got changed somehow, or it could mean the hard drive has died, or it could be that the OS installation has somehow become corrupted.

Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive...
