Solved! What is audio output power of a blu ray disc player

Is the audio output of a 3d blu ray player enough power to drive a 5 speaker
home emtertainment center, or do I still need an audio amp between disc
player and speakers

You still need a surround sound receiver. The disc player has no power output.

I've heard that there are some "DVD Home Theaters" meaning a receiver w/ a DVD/blu-ray player.

If you have a regular Blu-ray player thean you need either a receiver or a amplifier and preamplifier.
