What\'s the best low resource free antivirus software (in my case)?

I have a friend who is using a netbook. She needs a free antivirus program that won't slow the computer down. I could recommend a few that I have used over the years, and am interested in hearing the opinions of others regarding which are the best choices which use the least amount of resources.

Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG. Just to name 2.

Hi - I use Avast on my laptop and it seem to work gr8, however it can't co-exist AVG.
