Solved! when i plug an ear/headphone into the audio jack into my laptop, it works for like 3-10 minutes and then all of a sudden it stops working.

i checked, it is plugged all the way in and if i unplug and plug it in the jack, it works for another 3-5 minutes. everytime this happens I go to the updates windows setting and scan for updates, the is one. i have updated 3 times in the last 2 weeks. it is a new laptop. somehow this audio and microphone stops working problem only happens while using zoom (the web conferencing app.

uninstall and reinstall zoom

network settings are set to private instead of public?

install the drivers from the manufacturer´s support homepage
