Where can I buy a new headphone amp for my grados SR-80's powered by
my ipod? I don't have much money to spend, I am a student, nor do I
have the time to build a CMOY or similar amp. Is the best place for
myself to look ebay? anyopne know of any websites or individuals that
can help me out?

thanks

If you want something portable, Radio Shack sells a headphone amp for
about $20. No volume control, but can drive 3 sets of phones. Works off
AA batteries.

If you can use AC, then you'll find amps/distribution amps used by
musicians/pros pretty cheap. I bought a Rolls headphone distribution amp
for about $50 from an online store. It's very similar to this one:

I am very satisfied with it.

There was the "Boosteroo" thing reviewed somewhere and it got a
thumbs-up baed upon its price. Here is a link to one vendor.
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/3399/ . I have never heard
one and I don't know anything about the vender linked-to here, so I
can't speak for it or the vendor. It does seem to fit your budget and
need.

There is a very informative website (they do their own headphone amps, so
beware) on the web. Website: headroom.headphone.com

Your iPod should be able to drive your Grado's with sufficient power - what
is the motivation for the change?
